Welcome to our brand new blog! There is a little below about why we are starting this. And let's be honest what better time to start this than during the fall/winter where rain and cold is going to keep most of us inside (so I can write and you can read)! Enjoy :D
I feel like every website these days has a blog and I wasn't quite sure if it was a growing fad or a tactic. After doing some research I started to realize that it might be some of both as well as something else.
First off, it seems that everyone today wants to know more about everything; it's fair to say that future history books will declare this the age of information. I don't think it's just about the consumers though. Everyone has a story, everyone has something to share, everyone wants someone else to 'feel' with them and blogging is a way to share this. We are no different here at Capstone. Some of our blogs might be personal for you to better get to know us while others may be about some of the stories at our camps and the people impacted by our business.
On another note did you know that Google rates every single website on the internet to figure out where it should show up in a Google search? (I'm sure you did) Yes, that's right, Every. Single. Website. This even includes your Facebook profile page. But you might ask yourself, how does it rate all the websites? In simple words, it looks at how many people visit the page, how many other websites link to your page and how often there is activity on your page. This is where it gets challenging because if a website is to be considered at the top of Google's ratings it has to have all 3 of these things. So what about a business' website that is created so there aren't many edits that have to go in to it on a daily basis and therefor activity is low? Well that's how we created our website to ensure we are having to change something every day because let's face it, we don't have time for that. So this is just another reason why we are starting our blog so we can hopefully remain relevant on a google search.
